Remediation is when something unnacceptable is found during one of the inspections and negotiations need to be opened back up.

Let's say that the roof is in need of repair. We would write up an addendum stating that the seller fix the roof prior to closing. If the seller does not agree then you do not have to buy the house or you can repair it at your expense.
